Harry has been an educator since 1967. He did his undergraduate work at Colgate University, where he was a regional admissions representative while still a student. He pursued a Ph.D. at Cornell University, where he was also responsible for campus discipline from 1967-1972. He was Assistant Director of Career Planning and Placement at Cornell, when he was appointed Director of
Career Planning at Lawrence University and Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin.
He was promoted to Vice President for Student Affairs at Lawrence in 1977. In 1978, he was named Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Washington University in St. Louis, and elevated to Vice Provost and Dean of Student Affairs in 1984. He helped shape Washington University’s admissions policy and represented the University at countless admissions functions throughout the United States.
In 1999, he was appointed Director of College Counseling at The Collegiate School in Louisville, Kentucky, and in 2001 became Director of College Counseling at The Branson School in Marin County, California.
He is married with twin sons, graduates of Cornell and Dartmouth, who are in the movie business in
Los Angeles.
